I think it really boils down to a failed effort to target the enterprise market. I don't think it was a bad idea, but they underestimated the brand influence on the handset choice - it was Apple, and then Sammie got into the mix. They thought being locked-down tight would appeal to IT, but ultimately IT wasn't driving the decision.

I agree but they failed on many different spectrums. They had too many phones going out at once and then customers weren't happy because they weren't getting updates and I think the New Moto and the CEO has seen that making fewer devices that are better built is better than making the customers mad by having so many devices out that every time you buy one the next week a new one comes out. The CEO is trying to have the company wait til all their old phones no longer seem to be relevant and bring a super phone out that is faster than any other.
