Rooting/clockwork block OTA?

I know that rooting won't block an OTA on the Droid X, but I am running bootstrap so that I can back up my system. I am not running any custom roms. Will the gingerbread OTA update be blocked? If so, how do I know when the OTA is available and what would I have to do to allow it?

[HOW TO] Install and Remove Bootstrap Recovery

So I found that link. I followed the root explorer instructions. How do I verify that clockwork is gone and I can receive the gingerbread OTA?
