rooting a milestone

hi guys im new to this whole rooting thing, new to motorola milestone and new to the forums.

i was wondering if rooting the droid is the same as rooting the milestone. i know they are 2 different phones. im guessing the only difference is some settings, i dont know correct me if im wrong. i mean does it require the same type of files?

and thats for the european version. well i ordered mine off of ebay from hong kong dunno if it would make any difference. but maybe somebody from the forums who has successfully rooted their milestone, some help will be greatly appreciated.

a step by step instruction maybe or maybe a link will do.
