Hey sorry if I'm just totally showing my newbishness here but here's what I got going on:

- Droid X Rooted with Z4root
- backed up with Droid X bootstrap
- Overclocked with Droid Overclock
- Wireless Tether works great

-SetCPU will NOT get root permissions
-Titanium backup will NOT get root permissions
-Terminal Emulator app says "Permission denied" when I type in su
-Leds Hack does NOT turn off LEDs

and on the Superuser app, the non-working root apps don't even show up for me to try and get them to actually work.... also I don't see any settings for me to manually add these apps within Superuser.

Very new to this whole "root" thing, would really appreciate any help! God bless you Android fans!

:welcome: to the forum!

Unroot and reroot with Z4. If that doesn't fix it, make sure you're getting the permissions popup when trying to run a Root-Only app. :)

So it worked for you? Great! Sometimes Z4Root doesn't do a 100% job of rooting. If you've rooted it once, though, rerooting it seems to go smoother. :D

Yes, and all root apps are now working. Thanks for all your help, you really know your stuff! I have been able to overclock at 1300 max (even trying every voltage possible for higher overclocking), anything above that and it is deathly slow and laggy. Is there any way you know of you get it running at full 1450? Perhaps there is an app better than Droidx Overclock?

Your phone doesn't like to go faster than 1300. It happens. Not all CPUs are created equal and yours generates errors/heat at higher speeds, thereby causing the ECC to kick in, choking your device and generating tremendous heat.

Look at it this way, though -- you're still 30% faster than stock. :)

Quite welcome. A suggestion -- unless you REALLY need it, try installing a 3rd-party launcher to rid yourself of MotoBlur. You can go back if you REALLY don't like it, but it might speed things up a lot.

I don't know what a launcher is, but I'll start looking it up now. What launcher would you recommend?
