I am thinking of finally doing it. But I am reading a lot about boot strapping and deodexing and all that really confuses and scares me. If I just want to root mainly to do screenshots (and any other cool apps that require root) do I have to do all that stuff? I'm not looking to do custom ROMs or anything, I'm ok with the stock stuff. I've read about "1click root" things that seem easy enough. Is there a super simple/safe way to root just to gain root access? Any help, even a link would be appreciated.

If all you want root for is screen caps and you are not removing apps or looking to install roms then you do not need bootstrap. Just root with one-click and you will be fine. I also recommend getting pete's unroot tool.

Additional question-would there ever be a reason to unroot? If so, is that difficult to do?
