So there's a key difference in that she's running .211 and has this .206 ROM on her Safe system.. while you're on .206 and have .206 running on the Safe system.

I'll be putting up a .211 ROM here in a bit and maybe you can try it again on her phone.

Yeah, I was unsure if it was just the kernal that was being leaned on for the safe side system, or if there were other init type functions that needed to be adjusted for that.

Could I ask that you make a safeboot capable 213 build? I am gratefully using this 206, but was hoping 213 might offer a few solutions to a couple of my issues. Perhaps I could even help out. PM me if you would like me to give it a whirl myself.
