is there a good app for downloading actual music ringtones or is it better to record the sound off the computer and set to ringtone?

I use Ringdroid.

It allows you to take any song on your phone and make it a ringtone, notification, or alarm. You can even adjust the start and stop time of the sound and the duration.

Ringdroid or use Phonezoo.com That's how I do all of my ringtones.
