ringdroid/mms question

Okay, when I make ringtones with ringdroid and try to send them via mms it always tells me that I've reached my size capacity and won't allow me to send because the file is too big. Is there any way to make the file size smaller or compress them with another app? I've downloaded ringtones online that are about the same length and the file size is way smaller. Any help would be appreciated
