Question to you all.

I have a droid that was damaged by water. I had insurance but could not wait the 3 or 4 days so did not claim. I used my wifes upgrade and ended up spending $10 more for an immediate replacement. if i were to claim the droid for an x or incredible. would it have to be activated in order to use the wifi? i was hoping to use the device to learn how to develop.

Cheers!

ps, if it would work, what device if i have the choice, incredible or X

no.

activation only deals with phone service. You won't be able to make any calls or use 3g, but wifi should still work.

if you're looking to develop i'd go with the Incredible, much easier to flash. The X is still locked down in terms of ROMs iirc.

thanks very much. it would be great to have a development phone not having to worry every time it goes into a loop!
