Replacement Droid & App Reloading?

tah

Member
Well I broke the screen on my Droid and Asurion (Verizon) is sending me a new (refurbished?) Droid 1st Generartion.

Here's the question. Will Google recognize my new phone and allow me to download all the apps I've paid for?

Or...........is this going to be a huge PITA?

Sorry if this has been covered, I "poked" around a bit and couldn't find the answer I was looking for.

Thanks in advance.............

As long as you sign into the new phone with the same gmail account as your broken phone, you'll be fine. You might have to redownload any free apps, but the paid apps are linked to your account. Depending on what sync settings you had, you should have your contacts and gmail back as well (other email accounts will need to be re-setup of course).

your apps and purchases are tied to your Google account so no matter what phone you are on you'll get them back (applied to paid apps as said above)

you'll have to redownload all the apps of course, but your contacts will all be there.
