Recessed antenna? Build quality?

Has anyone else noticed that the silver on the sides is recessed compared to the Kevlar back? Or is it flush?

Also, has anyone else found a chip on the black frame around the display? I haven't dropped mine or anything, but noticed a chip today.

I love the battery on this phone, but these two things seem off to me...
