Receiving Text Messages

I just had my motorola droid replaced by another since keyboard went on it but when I sent messages on old one a blue icon would appear once someone read or received a text. On this new one, that is not occuring? Same model,etc..anyway to set that so it happens?

Which messaging app are you using on this one vs the old one?

Standard. One that comes with the phone didnt download an app for it
