Razr Maxx Battery Issues?

Budaman we welcome every option when there is a problem! Doesn't matter if you are new to the forums or not. Any ideas are always welcome. Sometimes fresh eyes see something in a different light and see the answer. FDR does cure a lot of problems. I was lucky - mine got fixed before I had to do it. Cuz I really dreaded doing that lol. But for many, that solves a lot of problems so in that you are correct. I think a lot of people would rather try simpler options first and if they don't work, then do the FDR. And welcome to the forums!

What a great response...but then I'm not surprised. We have a fantastic forum here and its all because of members like you! :D

I'll upload one once I get it, didn't get to charge my phone last night so it might be a little while.

No problem we can get a cleaner look at it and see what's running. Also power off your phone and restart once it gets to full charge.

Thank you so much! You know how to make a guy feel really welcomed!

New 'phone with no issues for several days. Did the OS update without difficulty. This morning it would not turn on. Then it got hot, very hot, and began to emit a smell of baking plastic. I pulled the SD and SIMM chip and have the phone resting on a ceramic surface at this time. Has anyone else heard of such a problem? The casing temperature is now over 135 F, getting an internal temp would involve plunging a meat thermometer into the innards, which would probably void the warrenty.

If it didn't turn on when it cooled off I would be headed to a Verizon store quick! Especially if its a brand new phone! In fact I would not wait for it to cool down - I would be headed there with the hot phone right now.

I had the same giant drop off of battery life today. So I downloaded that battery app that someone recommended. I'll post the screenshots of what it said.

mcal, look at gsam for the android OS like in the sec picture you attached above. Whats at the top under included processes..you uninstalled the TV app, but what is round box and is it still there?

@ ebrewer: Tricia is right!...people did have to replace their phones due to the latest update.

From a Google search, it appears that TV guide is put out by Roundbox. I found the TV guide app on roundbox.com.

But your awake time is down from 4 hours. Something is apparently still updating itself, using the CPU. It received 101 MB of data. I just looked at mine - it received 333 kb. So wonder what is running in the background. Do you have Google Now enabled? I am hoping someone else can take a look at these shots and pinpoint it better.

I think I do have Google Now enabled, I'll try to stop that.

Well I am not really sure Google Now really uses that much battery. I have it active all the time and I haven't had any wakelock issues.

Now I went back to the beginning of this thread and I may have missed the OP who said go into
System Settings-->accounts--> Google-->your email account

In there you will see what's sync or trying to sync..I had the browser giving a sync error and I just unchecked it. My guess is it all comes checked with the JB OTA...I didn't even know it was in there..check that out. May not help but you you never know..

Sorry if this was mentioned but did you change the mobile network from Global to LTE/CDMA? If not that can def be a battery killer
