Rate the Motorola Droid

I rated it a 5. Granted I'm coming from an Omnia 1 (yea I know be quiet...)

The flat keys arent as bad as some ppl make it to be. I mean u can feel the individual keys so whats the problem? I did see pics of the rasied keys....I'm thinking I might try my insurance and pray I get one just to see how it works.

Some ppl complained the top keys on the slide out board were cut off some cuz of the screen. Unless u put a front cover on wrong, (which I did when I first got it) or use a front cover thats wide, reaching the keys is fine.

My girlfriend experienced the dreaded 'mute' issue using my Droid I been reading about. I was undecided for awhile wfter reading up on that. I never had it happen to me. Maybe it is a 'long-hair' issue. And other ppl that said it happened when holding it to their cheek. I learned with the Omnia not to hold the phone flush to my face when I disabled the keypad lock. But I think the Droid needs a keypad lock or a better one. Not a screen lock, a keypad lock. (thats about the ONLY thing the Omnia 1 did right for me)

Love the free Google Maps. Used it this morning. Google Maps did trip out at the destination, made us do a U Turn when all we had to do was make a left a few feet before the U Turn.

Screen feels nice and hard. No scratches yet. Co workers said they never heard a phone so loud, (ringtones, looking at Youtube, etc.)

Battery life: this is the only reason I rooted. I'm trying like mad to have a similar battery life I had with the Omnia 1.

I actually like using a touch screen keyboard again......One that actually works good......thank u Droid.

I just got my droid. I love it absolutely love it (Better than iphone to me) but, I wish the battery lasted longer because I'm using it a lot.

I gave it a 5 due to the fact that I was able to use the iphone for a good 7 min and I did not like it. I almost bought a HTC , untill a friend of mine told me to check out the droid. I went to verizon messed around with the droid for about 40 seconds and bought it that same nite. This is my first smart phone and I love what it can do.

I gave it a 5 b/c I absolutely love it. I'm rooted, OCed to 1.2GHz, custom ROM, theme, and live wallpaper. Everyone has diff needs, but there's no one that can tell me right now that they have a better phone than me.

Rating the Droid

I'm giving the Droid a 4 out of 5 ---------

Partly because of the difficulty I have using the slide out keypad. I find it is too easy to hit wrong keys. At first I thought the slide out keypad was going to be easier than the virtual keypad, but on further practice I found the virtual one easier especially when using it in landscape mode .
This is a very good phone with a lot of amazing features. ( There is no way I'll learn everything about this phone ) .
One other thing ( at least for me ) is I wish the phone would have been a little more user friendly during the learning curve .
One thing saving me is all of the great help and advice here at the Forum. Thanks all !!! dancedroid

Right now it's a 4.5 but my final issue will be addressed with Froyo. Bluetooth voicedial should have been included stock, but whatever. It's coming. Battery life was an issue, but kernels have made that manageable.

It has GOLD on it... what is this the 1980s! and the audio jack is not perfect. Also the LEDs or filter on the home keys and keyboard are not the same color (should both be white but neither are)... 4/5

It won't let me edit my post....

One more thing. The hardware keyboard is useless with Swype (i can type twice as fast with Swype) and the keys on it are so small it is even hard to use it with Gameboid.

1. Droid
2. Oxygen
3. Beer
4. Food
5. Sex (I'm married...previously it might've been 1)

I think I did this rating thing wrong...

5/5

Being an owner of the LG Dare, the Droid is by far the best phone, I've owned. The camera is not as impressive as I think it should be compared to my son's Samsung Rogue... This phone would be a 5 star if I could access my contact list in Outlook and If there was an auto answer feature on the phone.:motdroidhoriz:

This phone is excellent and not to turn this into an argument but checking out the droid incredible at verizon i was not very impressed... smaller screen.. i understand you get the snapdragon processor but all i've heard so far about that is terrible battery life... droid with BB lasts long whiles and its overclocked :D .. im a bit of a computer nerd if you are too I would easily pick this over the Iphone.. if your not to computer savvy then maybe iphone would be better choice for those people.. GREAT PHONE.. 3 months into it.
