Problems with YouTube Ads

Ever since I've installed ICS on my Bionic, I'd rate my phone as "Mostly Satisfactory." I see others still have serious problems with data drops and random resets, etc. so I consider myself fortunate.

However, I've noticed that those periodical ads on YT impact my experience when they fail to play. This basically prohibits the app from streaming the video I wanted to watch in the first place. Sometimes I can remedy the problem by force-stopping the YT app or clearing the YT app cache. Sometimes I just power cycle the phone. However, these remedies aren't 100% effective.

YouTube ads aren't a problem on my PC, because I use AdBlockPro on my browser (Firefox).

Does anyone else experience this issue? Are there any remedies known to fix this problem? Is there a way to disable ads on the YT app? I've seen ads can be disabled on the Bionic by rooting the phone (my phone is pretty much stock), but I'm not sure I want to go that far (unless someone can give me good reason to).

FYI, the app v. is 4.2.16 and I'm running Android 4.0.4 (Bionic v. 6.7.246)

Thanks for any input you can provide.

Download tubemate & you can watch or download the YouTube videos you want to see. You can also select the quality of the video before you view it. Go to tubemate.net to get it (or Amazon app store).
