Problem with Bodyguardz screen protector

I've now had problems with both the Dry-apply as well as the regular wet-install Bodyguardz screen protector. In both installs, when placing a call, the phone goes into sleep mode, requiring that you hit the button on the top of the phone. The bodyguardz folks say they've never heard of this, but both my wife and I have installed several of each with the same problem.
Any ideas?

It most likely interferes with your phone's proximity sensor. Make sure protector does not cover the area on the left from ear piece grill.
