Potentially big Problem with 6.1

Can't update with *228.

I can dial in but it says programming in progress but won't let me get to a keypad to hit 2. All I can do is hit the home button, then phone button and then keypad but it just takes me back to the previous screen where it says programming.

I didn't mean to make the other thread in the OG section and already asked that one be closed. I have an Incredible so that thread won't be any help to me.
