Please help!!

3g data has refused to work on my phone, and not just on and off, but constantly, for the past couple of days. I've tried everything, switching roms, kernels, rebooting, going into airplane mode and reenabling data, etc. The only thing my phone is picking up is 1x! Its painstakingly slow. Any help would be really appreciated.

Some background info: original droid running cyanogenmod 6.1.2, chevy no1 1 ghz ulv froyo kernel. Tried, miui, ultimate droid, bugless beast, but none picked up 3g, only 1x. Wifi is working... but no 3g. thanx for any help in advance.

thank you so much, but it still says 1x, how long should it take?? Because i dialed this, and almost immediately without pressing anything it said "your phone is being activated", yet it still says 1x... puzzling.
