Good evening folks .. I'm going to post up a thread here for those just picking up your new phones .. today was day 1 for me .. phone handled well although I'm not at work this week so I will have to compare to regular days when I get back into daily routine .. initial thoughts phone handle all well.. it ran a little hotter than my Note 10+ and iPhone .. managed 5 hours screen time but didn't stream my music or videos .. I notice the phone charges super quickly .. wired charging this morning to start the day it was ready for when I left the house easily .. I bumped it from 13% to 45% in under 30 min wireless this evening ..

4XL just arrived. So I get to set this phone up again.

Ahh but the difference is the one I had last month was an open boxed from Best Buy, and this one is a fresh new one that is $200 cheaper.

I returned my phone yesterday last day of 14 day window ... It was great being on Pixel again .. ran smoothly and maybe down the road I revisit ... I missed my Note + and extras...

There is just nothing exciting about Pixel phones. Yes Google do stock Android well, but other phones are catching up. Only reason I'm not running to pick up another OP7p is because I know the 8 is right around the corner.

I have been trying to like Pixel phones for some time, but just can't, for very similar reasons. I have been on Samsung phones for some time, which I love, but I find the software frustrating.

I am thinking of gravitating to OnePlus as well. I feel they are catching up in the screen and camera departments at a rapid rate.

Finally passed my beloved Pixel 2XL to my wife, and picked up a 4XL. Just couldn't resist the $300 discount. Overall I am pleased so far with the phone. Miss the fingerprint reader, but am pleasantly surprised at how well the face recognition works. Glasses off or on, it still responds perfectly. Will be curious to see what the 5's have to offer, but for now I am satisfied with the 4XL.
