Phone search for cell service?

Hi all.
I'm at my folks house in the mountains and have no cell service.
I'm hooked into their wifi.
I'm just wondering if my Rezound is still searching for a cell signal and, if so, how to disable that.
I don't notice a large battery drainage.

Just wondering.

If you're using wifi then turn airplane mode on. That way your phone won't be searching for a signal. But make sure you turn your wifi back on after airplane mode is on.
