Overclocking a D3

I am new to rooting, and adding roms to my droids. After all the reading I've done I believe I've come to the conclusion that even though I've rooted, I require a rom that allows for overclocking, and since there are no roms for the D3 yet, it is not possible to overclock the D3 yet. Is this a valid assumption, or am I missing something?

It's not so much a rom as a compatable custom kernel. This however won't really be a posibility until we have a recovery system. So root was step one, now the devs can really start cooking.

Though I also like overclocking, I don't really see a point in doing so with this phone, besides Quadrant epeen bragging rights.

I'm happy with root on this phone, and freezing the bloatware. But it will be interesting to see what this phone can do once overclocked.

Hoping to be able to overclock to 2ghz being that Droid 1 speed was able to doubled.

Yeah me too. Until the first time I go from 100% Battery to 0 in about 2 hours.
