otterbox commuter mid-layer only?

i only care about protecting the bezel and was wondering if the mid layer only of the otterbox commuter is thin enough that it wont spill over the sides of the phone?

Yes, it is slightly wider than the main body of the phone. About the thickness of a credit card on each of the three sides that are exposed.
