orbot Proxy not working

so I have a droid x with motorola 2.2. rooted. and orbot installed with root yes worked fine. App says it is connect to tor. (proxy is enabled for all apps) when I go to test it either over wireless or 3g alone, it is not working using the internal test in tor and also using "my ip" app and going over internet to check ip. installed "proxy settings" app and put localhost address in and tried http port 8118 and ssl port 9050. not working. ready to jump. lol. any ideas?

success.
installed orbot without root permission and actually denied it when it asked anyways.

installed firefox beta1 (beta2 is now out)
in firefox beta settings I set "Force add-ons compatibilty" to yes
I then went to addons and installed "Proxy Mobile" (I read proxyMob....which really meant mobile!)
with the following settings in the proxymob add-on for firefox:
Use proxy- yes
Http proxy host - 127.0.0.1
http proxy port- 8118
Socks proxy host - 127.0.0.1
Socks proxy port - 9050

to verify your connection,
from android browser got to "whatsmyip.net"
and form firefox go to the same address and it will give you a different answer. hope this helps

oh yeah... my perseverance paid off when I got the "congratulations" form check.torproject.org page!

I have only tested this over 3g with no wifi.

NIce!!!!

Another method is to use ProxyDroid in tandem with Orbot. Set ProxyDroid to localhost / 8118 and set Orbot to localhost / 9050 and it should work with the default browser. I use this method on my Asus TF101. Note, however, that ProxyDroid requires root.
