How to connect to school's internet?
Hi guys,
I'm currently using a DROID running CyanogenMod6(this will apply later)
I'm wondering how to connect to my school's internet, it's using a firewall called iPrism St.Bernard.
NO, I'm not trying to go on Facebook or Myspace or whatever. My school is extremely limited on computers and sometimes when I do work I need to research my stuff.
I'm able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and optain IP address, however when i launch the browser it automatically redirects to iPrism and says website cannot be displayed.
i heard somewhere that you have to setup a proxy, and cyanogenmod 6 allows me to do that. Is there a way I can start using my school's internet so i can finally do homework?
My friends who have iTouches and iPhones are able to connect to the schools' internet because it asks for the login id /password whcih you need in order to use the internet. however my android device does not, so is there a way i can finally use it? any help is appreciated. thanks!

Use Opera Mini

What browser are you using? My school also uses iprism and I can't connect using the built in browser. Try using Opera Mini (not opera mobile). Its free in the app market. Using Opera Mini, I can get on the internet, but only through the browser. Other apps still won't be able to connect. It also bypasses all of the authentication and filtering stuff, so you don't have to login.
