It looks like OnePlus got sick of all the OnePlus X leaks and decided to just announce the phone (or they were simply planning to reveal it at this time all along). The new device pretty much ticks off the features found in the various leaks. The specs aren't very high end, but the design aesthetics are where the company appears to have focused their attention this time.
That's not all though. The phone has a very affordable price of only $250 off contract. If the experience of ownership is still solid, then this is an impressive price point to hit. Let's dive into those specs:
- 5-inch Full HD AMOLED display (1920 x 1080) with Corning Gorilla Glass 3
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor
- 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM
- 16GB of storage
- microSD support up to 128GB
- 13-megapixel ISOCELL sensor with f/2.2 aperture, Full HD video recording, slow motion video (HD at 120fps)
- 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.4 aperture
- 802.11a/b/g/n
- Bluetooth 4.0
- GPS
- GLONASS
- FM Radio
- 2,525 mAh battery
- OxygenOS (Android 5.1.1 Lollipop)
- Crafted Onyx and Ceramic Chassis
- Size: 140 x 69 x 6.9 mm
- Weight: 138 g (Onyx) or 160 g (Ceramic)
There's one more thing to add. The infamous OnePlus invite system is back, but it has been improved. The new invite system will work as it has previously, but this time it will only be for a month. After that, the company will hold open weekly sales on the device. Finally, once OnePlus is confident it can handle demand, it will then move to full open availability. The OnePlus X will be launching November 5th in Europe and November 19th in the U.S. Here's a link to our dedicated section for further discussion on the newest addition to the OnePlus family: OnePlus X/OnePlus Mini | Android Forum at DroidForums.net
