One email ID to rule them all

Hello. I'd like to make a universal email address or ID that I can use between Android and IOS. I don't want to use my current so what I'd like to do is transfer all the apps and stuff linked with my current Android email/ID to a new Android email/ID profile, then if I go to an iPhone I could use the email ID on the iPhone for things like gmail, google calander, etc. I am currently using a Droid Bionic.

Is this possible?

You can create as many email address as you wish. You can have one for Android and another for Apple products.

This gets trickier though if you've purchased things with your Google account that you use for android & using another address to purchase things in iTunes.

If you haven't purchased anything on one service, but have on the other, I'd recommend using that email address on both so all of your mobile device purchases are tied to the same account whether you're on android or iPhone.

For example, I use the same Gmail address on my android phone that I have registered with my apple id account.

Can I just add a new account to my Android phone and then sync the existing data from the other Android/Google ID account to the new account?

EDIT: I'm not worried about the purchased apps, I have only 3 and don't use any of them. They're not even installed.

You can have multiple accounts for Gmail, but only one will be the main account on the phone that all of your history, contacts, & apps are associated with.

In regards to your contacts, you can have your device show them from all of your Google accounts, or pick and choose which account/s it defaults to when opening up your dialer.

I am on the Verizon Network. I've been using Verizon to sync my contacts. I'm not sure if switching to sync my contacts with google would be a good idea. I currently don't seen an option to do that in the accounts section. I only see 'People Details' to sync that would be somewhat related to contact syncing. Hmm.

I do understand not all apps are available on both platforms, I just want to simplify things a little. I recently aquired a MBP and haven't set anything up with it yet, like an Apple ID. I'd like to start using Facetime and iMessenger possibly... I don't have an iPhone yet but since hearing how Apple Pay works I think it's going to be the way of the future.

Android has had google wallet for years now, which works much the same as Apple pay.

If you haven't setup an apple id, use the Gmail account from your Android device & everything will be simple. I guess I don't understand what the problem is. If you want to use one email address for both, you can do so without changing the address associated with your Android phone.

I basically want the apps to follow me between whatever platform I go with. As it is right now I understand they will as long as I use the current email address associated with my androild platform. the little thing that bugs me is that the email address i use for android includes the word 'droid' in it..

AFAIK Apple pay transactions use a different account number each time for a purchase. after 24hrs that account number changes and can't be sold or used again on the users profile.

Then create a new one, but you'll have to change the account used on your phone.

Yes just set your gmail address iTunes id to it.
Sounds like you've already got the rest figured out as far as app transfers and contacts by reading your posts.
My wife has 1 gmail address for her Apple id. She has an iPhone and iPad. I have 1 gmail address for both my Android account and iTunes account. I have nothing Apple anymore but I used to use both platforms and wanted it simple like you're looking for.

I think I'm going to have to manually install each app to the new email/account from the account I'm trying to leave. The email i'm leaving has the word 'droid' in it and I just don't want to use it as an apple id.
