The poll needs to be increased to cover out to the maximum for minute-based plans. In my case, the maximum minutes allowed on the highest plan is 2,000. Yes, I've gone over with 3 phones in the house, two adults, one child that uses maybe 10 minutes per month, so each of the adults is using upwards of or over 1,000 minutes.
I have Friends and Family on my Nationwide Minutes plan with Unlimited Data on the two adult phones. With Friends and Family I get to include upto 10 phone numbers that are not mobile (mobile to mobile is free 24/7), and keep the most frequent called numbers free as well.
As our usage has gone up, I've reverted to using Google Voice and a Google number to make and receive calls. Google Voice uses two different phone numbers, one for outgoing calls and another for incoming, to make the connections, and the party on the other end sees only your Google number. So I added the outgoing and incoming numbers to my Friends and Family and that helped keep the calls used down dramatically, however people who call us on the main numbers that we've had for 21+ years, mine ending in 8000 and hers in 8100, will still use minutes. Until people call us on the Google Voice numbers, we will still continue to rack up minutes used.
THIS is why I want WIFI calling. She and I are on WIFI the entire time we're home, and I'm on WIFI the entire time I'm at work, so the only times we would need to use actual Cellular phone call minutes is when we are out on the road or not near a WIFI hot spot.
