no way to upgrade baseband without SBF'ng?

I read a thread about upgrading the baseband from 12p to 13p.. now i can not find it. So now I am not sure if that method would even work with my x. I really dont want to sbf back and forth.. back and forth.. back and forth..

I'm not sure about any other ROMs, but I remember when I was on MIUI 1.8.19 there was a .zip file I flashed to upgrade the baseband to .13P

You don't have to SBF to upgrade the baseband (13p latest). Dwnld and install with ROM Manger.

I find it interesting that I got my phone new last year pre-Froyo (Eclair?), was updated to Froyo, was updated to Gingerbread, and then used the Linux ISO image to revert back to Froyo. Rooted and froze updates. When I check my "About Phone" info, it tells me by Baseband Version is BP_C_01.09.13P.

So, if one reverts back to Froyo yet the baseband is still 13P, the change back to Froyo did not change that back to a previous revision. How does that happen?
