No Sound When Calling Somebody

I have a droid 2 and when i go to call somebody i can't hear the ringer or the other person talking when they pick up. The only time i can hear them is if i turn the phone onto speaker phone. I checked all the volume controls and everything is fine but it started doing this when i updated my droid to the latest software update. Ive tried restarting it and made sure that the mute option was unchecked but no luck. Any suggestions would be great.

how do you get it to work

i had the same issue for a while and the only way i would get it fixed was to do a battery pull

so, i called verizon and they exchanged my phone for a refurb. I was stock and had this issue though
