No recovery

I'm trying to install chevy1 1ghz kernel thru rom mgr but it will not reboot into recovery

I had the same problem this AM. I used ROM Manager to flash SBF Recovery then flashed back to CWOR. It worked fine without having to use RSD.

I'm using clockwork mod recovery I didn't want to have to reflash rom to add kernel think ill use up on dpad n power method n install kernel

thats a known clockwork thing

Go into rom manager and flash alternative recovery on the bottom of rom manager. Once its done flash clockwork recovery again then choose reboot to recovery, if the samething happens do all again. It will work just have patients and try it a few times. I've had this issue on every phone with clockwork recovery. IT will work eventually. I have 3 droid1's 1 droidX and I sold my droid Incredible all have done it. I had the same issue on my freinds N1 and another friends 3g fender. Rom manager was able to fix it sometimes it works in one shot others it takes 2 or 3 times

That will only boot you into the bootloader and you can NOT install a new kernel there via any of the posted methods.
