Droid X - Restore Backup (CW) - moto logo?

Have a Droid X 2.2 rooted, created a backup of my latest build.

Booted to CW recovery to restore an old 2.1 rooted backup and it left me on the moto logo screen. RSD'd the SBF to my phone and it came back up 2.1 with all my data & configurations (unrooted)... I rerooted.

Installed latest Bootstrap & Rom Mgr on my 2.1 rooted and tried to use Rom Manager this time to restore back to my 2.2. rooted that I backed up earlier (before this mess) and it left me at the moto logo again. Seems like every other reboot will put me back into CW Recovery.

How can I restore a CW backup properly?

Is there a way to properly setup Rom Manager to perform backups correctly?

Is there a way to root DX 2.2 w/out having to SBF down to 2.1 > root > apply update.zip from Rom Manager again?

Thanks in advance

*EDIT* From what I'm hearing, I guess installing Clockwork Recovery from Rom Manager is what is causing the problem on Droid X 2.2? I guess you can only install CWR from Koush's Bootstrap App in order to get a working recovery?

*fixed* ???
http://rootzwiki.com/index.php/Smartphones/Motorola/Droid-X/Droid-X.html - Bootstrap Recovery should be used? Thanks to http://twitter.com/computermystro for the help; if it doesn't work, I'll come back and cry some more.
Thanks
