No pictures in gmail on droid

Verizon says....

Add me to the list of Moto Droid users who get the blue "?" box where the embedded picture should be. I dropped by a Verizon store yesterday to ask about it. The tech there gave me some mumbo jumbo about this being a Java issue and hopefully it will be fixed in 2.1.
Did I say tech? I meant to say a salesman who was somewhat knowledgable about Droid.

i too am experiencing the same problem, maybe its a gmail thing...and not a droid thing

i have tried it on the "gmail" "yahoo" "generic email" and through the browser.....nothing works.
