Google announced officially the next update to lollipop in 5.1. Features will include dual sim support, HD voice calls, device protection, and is expected to be build number LMY47D. So if you own a nexus be one the look out for the ota, or just wait for google to load the factory images and flash the software manually.

There are a few factory images up now for 5.1.0, just loaded within the hour it seems. What an odd assortment though!

Nexus 5 "hammerhead"
Nexus 10 "mantaray"
Nexus 7 (Wi-Fi) "nakasi"

I expect the others will come shortly. If things prove better, I may finally update my Nexus 7 (2013) to Lollipop. And I hope the Nexus 4 is improved in the new update--both of our Nexus 4 phones have been somewhat flaky since Lollipop came OTA.

(I cheated a bit. ;) I use a browser add-on to monitor a page for changes.)

Looking now and I see 5.01

correction you are right downloading now

Odd how my nexus 5 will get 5.1 before my nexus 6

just flashed my nexus 5 to 5.1

Could someone PLEASE tell me if true silent mode has returned as rumored?

Ill be digging through and will post the changes.

Of course the first thing I had to do was flash twrp and root it first. Booting up from su.zip.

Downloading and flashing now

For real though if you would have told me my Nexus 5 would get an update before my nexus 6 I wouldn't believe you. What the heck Google?

"true silent mode" is not there.... You still have the silent mode from 5.0.

I am moving files from my phone to my NAS. Once that is done, I will be flashing 5.1 to my N5. I am not so worried about silent mode. My only problem right now is I don't have root. Some apps I will not be able to use. Not too worried about it. I can flash my messages etc.

There is always to good old NANDroid restore.

5.1 will be uploading to source (aka AOSP). But @DroidModderX will have that and all things hacking related covered so Ill save that for him as I am sure he will get deep into what is new and which dev is working on what with the source. Yup, I am putting a plug in for our boy DMX.
