Off my phone and it's billed to my account like wheni had my Dare?i think i still have some unused credits for ringtones. this is all giving me a headache.

New to droid. Cant I just buy ringtones?

You can through Verizon. I've never paid for ringtones though.

So easy to do and if you have a lot of music like I have it's fun to set up.
Mabilo - also available (for free) through the Market, has a *wealth* of ringtones to download. You then assign a specific ringtone to each one of your contacts.

used my old phone but it sounded good and clean to me. would a TV or radio work better?
I use Tunee Music and Music Junk (have to download from the web) to find the song I want and Ringdroid to trim it to make it a ringtone

OK so i downloaded a few songs from mabilo. and when someone calls me it just vibrates after i set a song as my default ringer. and when i check my settings where all the dumb generic tones are that came with the phone it's set on silent under "phone ringtones"
