New S4- root question

I finally ditched my old Droid2 and got a new VZW Galaxy S4. I love the phone but I miss having root capabilities such as backup, full TOR functionality, ability to freeze bloat, etc.

I read that the latest update doesn't allow for root. My phone has already done an update so am not sure if I can root or not. Rather know before i try...

Android version- 4.2.2
Baseband version- 1545VRUAME7
Kernal version- 3.40-690088

I haven't seen any reports so far on people being able to root after the upgrade.

One suggestion is to follow the XDA Developers Forum (I believe that's the right place) for the latest news.

As of right now, you have the newest update and rooting is not possible at the present time
