New Droid X user

Just received Droid X. I thought at first it had good battery life. I have been through all the settings, I did cancel Advanced Task Killer after reading several posts. Now I go through a full charge 3 times a day. I have it set to Smart Mode. Any suggestions on the data time out feature?

id set it to what you feel comfortable using. and for sync rates, i dont need constant updates on my phone so i have mine pretty infrequent.

also, turn down screen brightness.
