Hi everyone. I just got the Droid X on the 26th. I am a previous owner of the BB curve (for two years) and the Palm Treo before that for about three years. This is a big difference.

I found this website searching for answers to some questions but the more I read the more overwhelmed I get. :icon_eek:

I guess my biggest question is about Advanced Task Killer and I see that it isn't an easy yes or no answer. The guy at Verizon installed it and did a QUICK overview. My motorola date and time widget that I had installed on my home screen wasn't keeping accurate time and I think from what I'm reading it might be because of the Advanced Task Killer. I have just uninstalled the ATK and I'm going to try to read more to determine if I really need it.

New technology scares me so I want to find out if ATK is something I really need or are there other things I should be doing to keep my phone running well.

Welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here.
As far as task killers go you do not need one for android. Here's a link about task killers:http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-applications/65483-task-killers-answer-google-developers.html

If you have anu more questions just ask.
Enjoy your stay. :)

Welcome! Good to have you with us. Quicksilver is correct. Typically, task killers cause more problems than they solve. The Android OS was designed to manage multiple tasks and does an excellent job.

Check out the entire X section by clicking the Forum link above. There is a lot of very useful information about the X in the different sections.
