New Bionic Specs?

The D1 actually had an awesome screen compared to most....

The D1 is a good ole war horse isn't she. Still going strong I will not sell her. I'll keep her blood going as my mp3 music player on the lawn mower every week. And as a spare to activate if the new handset has problems.

I always carried her in my pockets, sat on it, dropped it, if Im not using it my 12 year old is hammering the keys texting in a fashion that would win medals if it were an Olympic sport. With only a Steinheil screen protector since 1/1/10 I hope Motorola keeps the rugged build it has in the "New Form Factor" Bionic.
Her paint is chipped, all the gold is off the camera button, and she is running like a banshee.

lol great post. I feel the same way. Initially I was considering selling it on ebay when I upgrade in August, but the damn thing is simply too durable and useful to get rid of it simply because it has no data connection.

so by reading panda's tweets he is getting a new job, i wonder if he will still be doing tweets and stuff about the phones. I am torn between the charge or waiting for the droid. I guess hands on tomorrow for the charge.

Yeah I think I might wait a little bit longer. But the free phones are screaming my name. jmho if I wait the bionic will kick butt for a while and I will be happy with it.

I have quenched my thirst for new tech by purchasing a Transformer tablet. Now I feel I can hold out with my D1 a little longer until something actually GOOD comes out. The funny thing is my new phone will quite possibly have a faster processor than my Transformer's Tegra 2...

I haven't looked at one in person yet, but I can tell you if you look at any screen through a camera the pixels will show big time. This is something I'll have to actually wait until I can see with my own eyes. All I know is the guys at CES were drooling over the display of the original Bionic, which was a qHD display. My advice is to wait until you can hold one in your hand and see for yourself.

A little off topic here but...I was actually at vzw talking to my friend that works there. She told me to honestly wait for better phones to come out. The only one that she could recommend is the inc2 (which I do not want cuz of no 4g, no hdmi). She didnt know much about the revo yet. In short she said that she couldnt honestly sell me the x2 or tb and feel good about it. They were receiving many complaints about each phone.

So hopefully the bionic has good specs and actually works well...but it will be hindered by pentile (unless they find a way to improve pentile in the next few months). Just go into vzw or att and check out the atrix or dx2.

I am a semi pro photographer, I have dual S-IPS displays I keep color calibrated for publication print and can tell you, to sweat a ity-bity 4.3 phone display for color accuracy is just plain anol.

+1000...some of these "issues" crack me up.

Its not about color accuracy its about the pixels on the pentile screen being spread way too apart from each other. It makes it look icredibley low in resolution.

I hear you. To each his own.

I like the fact it is done to save battery power.
I guess it will not effect me as I'll not be as critical only needing the upgrade in a phone for the 4G to render aerial maps faster than 3G and such. I also get security camera video clips sent to me from time to time. And my old wrinkled eyes need more screen real-estate than my D1 has.
I wait to see it. I'm sure it will be at least "more than adequate".
