Hey guys, I have a Moto Droid 1 running 2.2 frg22d and I keep getting the annoying update poopup. I tried updating and it obviously will not work because im rooted. Is there a custom rom of the update out yet? if not, can someone pls point me in the right direction on getting this thing updated. Im using rom manager and clockwork for fwiw. I have read a whole bunch of tutorials and need a little more personalized help, thanks alot.

no replies...was it something i said or maybe this is not considered a tech issue? im sincere here can someone throw me a bone, thanks

Sorry bud.. the D1 is sort of overlooked these days.

In helping keep your thread alive, what on earth do you need? Is your annoyance with your ROM? What ROM are you using? Are you willing to move to another ROM to avoid this message?

More information....

You know, you can just backup your current ROM and load another easily? It may seem dramatic, but I do it all the time with my D1 to test a new ROM.

Ok yeah I have the rom all backed up but was wanting the benefits of a smoother os via an update and was thinking I had to deroot to do that. So your saying I can flash an updated os without unrooting? If so right on where does a guy find the rims or whatever? Thanks a lot

Well sir, you said you had ROM Manager...

Click on Download

Look for something like CyanogenMod 7.0.2 or Liquid Smooth (Liquid Gingerbread 1.85)

Wipe data? Sure, why not... just remember your going to need to re-enter all your passwords, for your phone to connect to the networks again.

I dunno man, it seems like you really need to look around and explore some ROM's.

Just remember, backup, download a new rom from ROM Manager, play around.. dont like it? load ROM manager and restore your backup.

You can keep doing this forever BTW.

Enjoy!
