Need Some Help Here

Okay, so this is the first time I have ever had to set up an email account manually and I need some assistance. My fascinate automatically synced without any hassle, but this Droid 3 won't do that. I need some help setting up my Virginia Tech email account. Everyone I call on campus just sends me to some answers website about connecting 2.1 to their email servers... Its a little different on gingerbread. So if anybody at all can help me here, I would definitely appreciate it.

You are going to need to know the address of the email server if it won't connect automagically. Let it fail automatic setup and then specify the mail server address and credentials manually.

Also it's important to know if this is an ActiveSync, pop or imap email account. Which is it?

It is a POP server, and I finally got someone to talk to me. Thanks anyway. If anyone on this forum has the same issue, here is how you need to do it.

The settings to connect to the VT Mail server are:

Username: [Your PID]@vt.edu

Note: Replace [Your PID] with your PID.

Incoming server: pop.vt.edu
Incoming server uses SSL on port 995.

Outgoing SMTP server: auth.smtp.vt.edu
Outgoing server uses SSL on port 465.
