Need help setting up Verizon.net email

Just picked up my Motorola Droid yesterday and they set me up with a google account at the store. I currently use a verizon email address at my home and I want to set it up on the Droid, but can't get it to work.
Here is what i'm trying

I'm clicking on the email symbol and it tells me I can configure email from most accounts in a few steps. I enter my email address and my password. I click next but them I get the error "Setup could not finish, username or password incorrect". I've verified my password numerous times and I know it is correct.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

My verizon.net acct is working perfectly fine. Make sure you have right mail server address's ...

incoming.verizon.net
port 110


outgoing.verizon.net
port 587

And dont put the @verizon.net on the end of your username. I also have security disabled on my Droid. Been working since the day i picked it up in November.
