my phone's battery died. So I plug into PC, yet it wont charge pass 5% and keeps cutting off. how do I get it to charge?

You need to plug it into the wall... PC can't always power like the wall can!

Agreed, charging it via PC is the slow road and in some cases (like yours, apparently) it may never charge.
Use the USB cable that came with the phone for best results. If you do need an extension, use a power extension cord and NOT a longer USB cable.
