via usb.

I mean random things get selected and opened, and the applications menu scrolls all the way to the bottom and back up. It is tough just to select the option to mount the SD card so i can xfer files to it. My laptop is on windows 7.

Funny thing is I have connected it to a couple other PC's running XP and it behaves normally. Not sure what could be causing this. Also I think I may have to replace the battery as I notice it drains quickly at times without me even doing much on the phone. The other day it went from full charge to 70% in a matter of 10 minutes. The only thing I did was check the weather and send a txt. I checked task killer and didnt have alot of tasks open either and I have wifi turned off.

Anyone ever have either of these issues?

Sounds like you have some sort of short. Possible the usb cable is defective - Kinked somewhere, or bad contacts at the connector. It may have already damaged your Droid - at the least it sounds like it has.
