Unfortunately, this would most likely only happen if Motorola were selling more of the development editions off contact than Verizon sold locked on contract.

I was at Walmart the other day and noticed that the vzw s3's retail price was $50-$100 more than the retail price of the sprint, at&t, and US Cellular versions. So as long as vzw is making money on locked phones, then they won't change.

and the craziest part about the gs3 being more expensive is the fact that the VZW version is the only one in the FREAKING WORLD that got locked down!!! pay more for a device that is going to get updates months after the other carriers have gotten them? i know the network is what keeps people coming back to VZW, but jeebus this is getting out of hand

Can't wait until Sprint and T-Mobile get further along in their rollout. I would love to be able to kiss VZ goodbye.
