obviously its fake. hence the "2.0 technology"

Just having to download a pdf file makes me think it is not real. Which I am not going to do in the first place. If someone really wanted it seen they would not make something you have to download like that.

I dont see anything in that pdf about an update. Looks just like an overview

I work for Verizon ( indirect agent ) and we just got an email saying the update is going out within a week. It also had a PDF file attached talking about key features in the upgrade...I'm at work now posting this from my Droid.. is there anyway I can take a picture of this ( PDF ) and post it here?

If I root my phone and apply 2.1 will I get pinch feature on maps, or is that still not available?

If you go to android market and GM has been updated to 3.4 which will have pinch feature

If you head over to droid-life.com they show how to get pinch and zoom maps without rooting.

Wow, easy to do and LOVING the new multitouch in maps. Also has some great featues like "measure".

Under key features it still says android 2.0 and I agree with you about being BS.

Just deleted the new and updated maps to 3.4. It really is the sweetest app out there.

Update 3.4 was just released on the marketplace. No need to manually downloaded it!

how would an indirect agent know about this before their own customer service? I have a buddy who works for their customer service and he knows nothing about 2.1.
