Xiaomi has been releasing new devices at a pretty fast pace. Just before Christmas they released the RedMi Note 3, and the Mi 5 was released not to long after. Last week Xiaomi announced their upcoming Phablet device the Mi Max. Today they took to twitter to announce the Mi Max will be available on May 10th.
That isn't all the good news we got today though. They also announced that they would officially debut their latest version of MIUI which will be version 8. MIUI is the Android skin that most reminds us of iOS. MIUI has no app drawer, and the icons are rounded off, the settings pull downs even resemble iOS.
There are some cool Android features though like a full on theme manager. MIUI 8 will bring some new features. Notably the build will include a new and improved notifications shade which is very reminiscent of the notification panel of Touchwiz. We also expect to see a new cloud music application. Hopefully MIUI 8 will take us to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but it is more likely the build will be based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
