So, I keep getting a notifications that I don't have enough space left on my phone. I really only have like 16 apps on my phone. I have about 30 MB of memory left on my phone, and I really can't do anything to increase that amount. I have a Droid 1. I tried moving all the apps I could over to my SD card but that barely helped. My friend thinks I have something that is just taking over all of my memory. I deleted most of my pictures and all of my videos just in case. I really don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

Clear the caches for all your apps. Settings > applications > manage

Tried that. Didn't work. Also, I brought my phone into a Verizon store, and I asked them what the dealio was, and they had no idea. They told me to reformat my SD card. That didn't help in the least bit.

I am considering hard reseting. I was told by the guys at Verizon that I might have to do this. If I connect my Droid to my computer, and copy everything over to a file on my computer, will I be able to save all of my contacts and whatever apps I was able to move over to the SD card?
