Since getting the ics ota my battery life has been awful. Lasting for a couple hours of non use and maybe a half hour if being used. Any suggestions or is anyone else having this problem?
How long have you had ICS? A day? Let it settle down. If you want, clear cache, battery stats, etc. No one I know is having this problem. Battery life for most has been great from what I've read.
wipe the cache.
my battery life is spectacular.. as a matter of fact I've gone back to the stock battery since updating to ICS.
no more extended battery hump!
Back up your app data, contacts, texts, etc. Toss all of that onto either the physical SD Card (sdcard-ext), or onto a computer. Then do a factory data reset, wipe your cache, and then reinstall your apps and all of that jazz.
Poor battery life is a pretty common feature of updating without getting a fresh software start. This should fix most of your problems. I've only played around with ICS builds .2232 and .232 and I can tell you that battery life on .905 Gingerbread was better. The .246 official release may have better life though once you've cleaned your system out. Be sure to let us know how it works for you after that.
I did a factory reset after installing ICS. Not to impressed with the battery i guess..But then again im running the same apps that i did with Gingerbread.
Android OS seems to be taking up most of my juice, along with the screen and the brightness is not even halfway.
Yeah, it really takes days for it to settle down. Did mine on Friday from 247 and it got crappy again but it's already getting better today. After a week if you still have problems, i'd check back in then.
I too had terrible battery life after first installing .246. Let the battery drain to almost nothing then fully recharge a couple of times. Also look for any rouge apps. This worked for me. A single charge easily lasts all day for me now with moderate use.

To wipe cache: power down, then press power and vol up + vol down at same time, vol down to toggle to Recovery, vol up to select Recovery, wait for Droid guy screen, hold power and vol up + down, vol down to toggle to Wipe Cache Partition, vol up to select Wipe Cache Partition, wait, hit power button after Reboot is offered.

Hi guys, long time lurker; first time poster. Let me start off by saying that I really enjoy this community of people helping out eachother and general sharing of knowledge. I hope I fit in and provide good input. I have participated in the ICS soak and I do have some battery issues and I was wondering if I only cleared my cache would I still have to back up all my data and apps? Thanks!
