Lost.DIR and Radio issues

Occasionally my radio won't read my sd card (I connect using my usb cord). I can scroll through the folders, it shows the files, it just won't play the songs. I noticed that when this happens the folder "lost.dir" is created and I'll delete it and then re-try and sometimes that works and other times it doesn't and it re-appears. I want to know why this folder stops my radio from playing the songs and wtf keeps creating it? I've tried finding out for days. Sometimes deleting it doesn't work and then I just give up after trying like 12x and then later on it will randomly work. Does anyone know why?

I dunno about the connectivity issue, but I've got LOST.DIR too. I've given up deleting it...it always comes back.
