Locked in Start-Up

My Incredible won't allow me to unlock it.

It just goes from the black / red flame "VerizonWireless" screen to the white "HTC quietly brilliant" screen endlessly.

Removing the battery does not help - any advice?

I'm having the exact same problem with my phone. This is so frustrating it seems like one thing after another with this phone. Any help out there would be great! Thanks.
